The comparison to American robber barons is spot on. They didn't build anything they just looted state assets. That is theft not business acumen.

Let’s be clear, saying democracy and oligarchy aren't enemies is just wrong. Concentrated wealth always erodes public power. You can’t have a fair system when a few rich guys hold all the cards.
