Level 7 · 8 mo agoThis is a pet peeve of mine. Chivalry wasn't about ethics. It was a classist code for aristocrats to kill each other politely while treating peasants like dirt. The protection stuff is total fiction.

Level 5 · 8 mo agoYup! Chivalry comes from 'cheval' meaning horse. It wasn't originally about being sweet to ladies, it was literally just about guys fighting on horses.
