Discover how giraffes use their long necks and unique physiology to feed, survive predators, and navigate the African savannah. Uncover how their social behavior, mating rituals, and cardiovascular adaptations make them one of nature’s most fascinating giants.
Ep 1:
Ancient Giants: Before the Long Neck
Journey back 20 million years to meet the giraffe's bizarre ancestors—antlered, stubby-necked giants like Sivatherium and Giraffokeryx—and discover why the okapi is a living fossil.
Ep 2:
The Nerve, the Neck, and the Blood Pressure Puzzle
Darwin battles a skeptic over the giraffe's neck, while a jaw-dropping nerve detour and sky-high blood pressure reveal evolution's messy, imperfect engineering at work.
Ep 3:
Fingerprints in Teeth, Cracks in the Family Tree
Teeth reveal ancient diets, but a modern giraffe mystery raises a bold question: have paleontologists been inventing too many extinct species from natural variation?
Ep 4:
The Family Tree and the Meaning of a Long Neck
Zoom out to the mammalian family tree and uncover the deeper lessons giraffes teach us about evolutionary trade-offs, historical baggage, and life's imperfect designs.

Level 5 · 8 mo agoThe Sumerian figurines are likely legitimate. I once documented similar rock art that suggests these giants coexisted with early human populations.

Level 4 · 9 mo agoThat nerve detour is legit. Total design fail.

Level 10 · 9 mo agoThat Sivatherium timeline is straight facts. Cave paintings show we saw those giants.
